Kari Jagodzinski, Director of Marketing & Sales,
GenPro Power Systems, Inc.
Kari Jagodzinski has made a career in marketing and communications. But she was caught a little off guard by the public’s and the media’s interest in solar.
“Traditionally, I’ve had solid success with press releases. But I was blown away during the first month working for GenPro when I sent out a release about a partnered product – the 10,000 gallon per day solar powered water purification unit deployed to Haiti,” Kari said. “All the television stations responded and gave us a feature story on early and late newscasts with the video placed in premium web spots. This created quite a buzz.”
Kari takes great pride in the work the company does to bring reliable energy to areas where traditional electrical grids and services are not available.
“A reliable energy source can mean the difference between life and death in many situations,” Kari said. “Our company delivered and installed a generator in Liberia during a civil war for a hospital that desperately needed it! Women and children were injured and needed critical care. We were able to help improve lives.”
As the Director of Sales and Marketing for GenPro Power Systems, the position challenges all of Kari’s previous marketing experience. Communications and promotions are geared to cutting-edge technologies, new product launches, multiple lines of distribution, as well as local, regional, national and international markets.
“Launching new products is always exciting, especially when the products are environmentally friendly and help people in our own backyard as well as around the world.”
But at the end of the day, the most exciting part of the job are the people that she works with.
“The company is small enough that things change quickly and work can get intense, but at the same time, it also means that employees are valued and not just a number. We’re a pretty tight-knit group.”
